About the Role

Yours is looking for a Social Media Intern who has a passion for storytelling and community building through various social platforms, loves to get their hands dirty with creating engaging content, is highly creative with an eye for design and detail, and has a pulse on the latest trending topics even before they go viral. You will be able to differentiate a winning social post from one that is lacklustre and can help design and execute social content according to a brief, as well as schedule and manage content across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn. The role will work cross-functionally with Creative and Brand/Marketing teams, with guidance and support from the Marketing Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist the Marketing Manager to execute and publish content with a shareable factor, and drive community engagement across our major social channels (IG, FB, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Community)

  • Social media copywriting — help craft social captions and copy for informational posts that are on brand and true to our voice, story and values, but also connects and resonates with our audience

  • Develop and execute variations of the same content –  distribute and bring them to life across numerous social channels

  • Brand and community management — interact with audiences across social channels and identify opportunities of engagement with the target audience; not limited to feed post messages, DMs, encouraging UGC, and customer service recovery and queries.

  • Baseline tracking of social media growth and top-line metrics – deriving learnings from analytics and optimising content accordingly 

  • Regularly playbook and document all learnings that will pave the way for future growth

Skills & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, a creative discipline or related field,  or studying as an undergraduate (but able to commit full-time) 

  • Digital native – you can navigate various social media platforms and tools with ease, or resourceful enough to figure it out independently

  • A basic understanding of how social media integrates with other marketing functions

  • A basic understanding of content creation and what makes a piece of content exciting, engaging or share-worthy 

  • Knowledge of design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or Figma is a plus

  • Strong communication skills and eager to share creative ideas 

  • Strong organisational skills to stay on top of posting schedules across all platforms and never miss a beat

  • A flair for writing with a meticulous eye for spelling, grammar and punctuation

  • A self-starter who is eager to engage with people and build a welcoming community atmosphere  

  • An interest in skincare and beauty, or hungry to learn more!
